The new airline of Spain has started operations!

Iberia is the brand new airline, serving you from Madrid (MAD) in Spain. We have started out with 3 Boeing 737-300 with routes over Spain, Portugal, Tunisia and some other countries. We are the largest airline in Spain right now, holding over 70% of the market in Madrid. Our first flight was the flight between Madrid and Barcelona carring 134 passengers.

We have ordered a brand new Boeing 737-300 with delivery in February.




We plan to order some more of this plane. We may also order some ATRs for the smaller destinations in and around Spain. If ordered, the ATR will enter delivery in April/June 1995.

Happy new year to all!

We have just opened a new terminal at Madrid, having 5 gates at its capacity. We will open more afterwards. We plan to have 10 when we can afford it. The terminal is named Terminal 5.

We have just introduced new routes to A Coruna, Brussels, Dublin, Monastir and Naples. See our new route map under (as of Feb 1995)



And we just have entered the alliance Oneworld! We are pleased to have joined a so great alliance.
But we may expect further competition in Madrid in the future by other airlines. We are trying to keep loads high.

We also plan to open a subsidiary called Air Nostrum, to serve the smaller routes in Spain. They will be using a fleet of ATR's. Also some Bombardier CRJ if they need more destinations with less planes.
